How To Clean Tile Grout – A How-To Guide For Extremely Busy Adults
As you can see from the before/after image above, the bathroom grout looks much brighter than its previous stained state. The look was achieved in about 30 minutes – unlike the hours spent by some homeowners scrubbing, applying solutions, waiting hours for it to soak in and then rinsing it off.
We’re going to break the process down into steps for an easy and simple experience.
1 – Priming the pen
The first thing you want to do after taking the pen out of the packaging is to give it a shake, like you would a carton of orange juice with bits.
This will ensure that, after being in a packet on its journey through the mail, the ink is thoroughly mixed and hasn’t separated.
Then, you need to pump the nib down 10-20 times until ink starts to flow. We would suggest doing this on a piece of paper or a paper towel.
By pumping the nib, you are encouraging the ink to travel from the chamber down through the nib so you get a consistent ink flow.
Once the ink is flowing, you can stop pumping.
2 – Putting the pen to action
The simplicity of this step is going to blow your mind.
All you have to do is run the pen over the grout in a fluid motion and voilà. Sparkly white grout.
However, we do have a tip that will help you to keep your grout looking its absolute best…
TIP – Try to glide the pen along a whole line of grout in one go, if you can. For example, go from top to bottom in one motion.
This will keep the grout pen application as smooth as possible. If you do it in small sections and overlap the ink, the parts that you previously did will have slightly dried and can get clumpy when drawn over a second time.
And there you have it.
It really is as simple as that. Now you know how to clean tile grout efficiently without the nonsense. For more information on our grout pens, along with loads of reassuring positive feedback from homeowners like you, read one of our previous posts here.
But, before you rush to the checkout to buy one for yourself… here are a few more details you might want to know:
- You may want to keep a damp cloth at hand in case you accidentally go over part of the tile – it will wipe straight off as long as it is not left to dry.
