Make Classroom Window Displays Pop With Glass Markers
Teachers! It’s your ‘time off’ – half term, end of term or maybe even summer holidays and you’re having a nice relaxing break. Yeah right, you’re probably planning your displays for the next term and struggling with the lack of classroom space or the fresh ideas that will get your senior leadership team off your back.
Well, here’s one solution to both of these problems.
Utilise the window space in your classroom as an interactive display to enhance the learning environment. Roughly translated that means letting your class write on the windows.
That sounds scary, right?
Yet it gives you the chance to use space that is often set aside for the same old boring, stained glass window art installations. Imagine how much extra space this converted bus would have if you could use the windows too!
What should they draw with the glass markers?
Whatever you want!
Draw graphs, pictures, sentences, shapes and special vocabulary, just make sure you write for their height so everybody can join in.
I don’t have windows in my classroom
This idea may not be practical for every classroom; your children may not be able to reach the windows, the windows might be tiny or you may not have windows at all! So why not take your class outside, use those massive glass slabs that front the school hall and show everyone what class 2c have been learning today!
Your children will love showing their friends what they have been learning in their lessons.
Does it come off?
Don’t worry, your caretaker won’t be after your head. The pens will simply wipe off with a damp cloth, though, I advise you clean it off so they don’t have to! You may wish to incorporate cleaning the glass into your PE lesson; wax on, wax off.
Are they safe?
Obviously eating the pens should be avoided. However, when that ‘pickle’ in your class does decide they would rather colour their teeth than the glass, as instructed, the pens are non toxic and therefore ideal for use in a school.
Where can I get them?
