Preparation and Application of Our Paint and Primer In One
Some simple preparations are required to achieve the best results with The One Paint.
- Remove dirt with a damp (not wet) cloth
- Wipe the surface down to ensure it is clean and dry
- For use on wood, lightly sand the surface
Our environmentally friendly paint and primer in one is water-based and has low VOCs, making it ideal for indoor painting (less chemicals emitted into the air in your home) and suitable for painting in low temperatures outdoors!
Fun Fact: Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are organic chemicals that have a high vapour pressure at ordinary room temperature. Their high vapour pressure results from a low boiling point, which causes large numbers of molecules to evaporate from the liquid or solid form of the compound and enter the surrounding air.
To apply, stir your pot thoroughly prior to use to ensure the colour is properly mixed. If applying by brush, apply evenly following the grain of the wood. If rolling, use a short nap mohair roller.
If a second coat is required, allow 2 hours before doing so to ensure the best results.
Shabby Chic Furniture Paint vs The One Paint

Our Shabby Chic Funiture Paint is for the interior design lovers who want a wider variety of colours to experiment with. Although our Shabby Chic Chalk Paint offers fantastic colour pay-off, you may need to layer a few coats depending on the look you desire…
For example, one coat is sufficient for a rustic, authentic Shabby Chic appearance. However, two or three may be required for an opaque, modern finish.
In comparison, The One Paint has a limited colour range and is designed for interior and exterior renovations – which is why it is available in multiple finishes and is made up of a mostly neutral colour palette.
